Rouge – Rencontres improbables

Coaticook, June 2nd, 2023. The Beaulne Museum is pleased to present the exhibition « Red – Improbable Encounters », the result of a collaboration with the « Musée de la nature et des sciences » from Sherbrooke and the « Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke », from June 18th, 2023 to January 21st, 2024. The public and the press are cordially invited.

A warm colour, red is present in nature and in many spheres of societal life. It also represents a powerful symbol in certain circumstances and in certain circles. The idea of creating a kind of symbiosis between objects from museums with different missions, a first in the Eastern Townships, represented a real challenge which, fortunately, was taken up brilliantly.

Grouped under different themes: the flamboyant, the stylish, the elegant, the dignitaries and the discreet, the objects converse with each other in a playful and striking style that challenges the visitor.

More than twenty cleverly grouped objects from the collections of our three museums reveal their secrets and allow visitors to make discoveries and unsuspected connections.
