Mi-ondes mi Matière

Musée Beaulne, 96 rue de l’Union, Coaticook, Québec, Canada, J1A 1Y9

Michel Poirier wants the observer to question the functioning of our universe, more precisely the fact that it is generally accepted in the scientific community that "...all physical objects can sometimes present wave properties and sometimes of small particles.

To achieve this goal, he provokes reflection using: a hypothesis, a video and several abstract paintings. The artist presents several of his recent abstract work, which are the result of his reflections on the functioning of the universe. More precisely, they want to be “footprints” of this world in transformation, when it is “half-waves, half-matter”. They are the result of his memories, his thoughts and a quest for a vision of the world beyond matter.

Born in Montreal, Michel Poirier currently lives in Mont-Saint-Hilaire. His professional life has been divided between the world of education, as an educator and co-author of educational books, and the world of the arts, as an artist-painter, musician, sound technician and director-video designer. He studied for his bachelor's degree in visual and media arts at the University of Quebec in Montreal. He holds a bachelor's degree in education since 1984 from the University of Quebec in Montreal.

As a painter, he quickly felt the call during his childhood when he saw his father paint. Some of his work have won prizes in international competitions. He is represented by the NuEge gallery in Montreal. For Mr. Poirier, painting “is defying the irrational in order to bring something new into the world. »
