From yesterday to today… Iconic artists from Coaticook
A territory rich in history and creativity, the Coaticook region has always been full of talent. This genius, translated into sublime works of art from a wide variety of disciplines and techniques, has not escaped collecting initiatives. The art presented are all from the Museum’s collection.
Born in Coaticook or having lived in this territory, several artists have distinguished themselves through their talent, creativity and reputation in the region and beyond. While some are no longer with us, others continue their careers and even frequent the Beaulne Museum.
This exhibition therefore presents the work of artists from the Coaticook region who are considered emblematic and whose creations have been collected by the Museum. As usual, we take care to show a body of work marked by diversity in order to better reflect the artistic wealth that the region has witnessed.
The artists honoured are:
Thérèse Dassylva, Andrée Goyette, Normand Gladu, Helen White Sirois, Rose Birs Desmarteau, Denise Beaulne, Martine Bélanger, Diane Gadoua, Koni Marcoux, Stanley Cosgrove, Barbara Sharpe
