Espèces d’apocryphes
A social and aesthetic manifesto, this exhibition is a reflection on several current social issues.
The Apocrypha is intended to be narrative, deconstructed, twisted, presenting different figures depending on the point of view, expressing multiple or contradictory emotions. It is a being symbolizing a philosophical or mythical thought. Its strangeness suggests a more funny, sympathetic, endearing and sometimes absurd side.
The species of Apocrypha presented are, after all, anthropomorphic still lifes, with a strong symbolic value. The sculptures (mixed medium, wood, patina and metal) are made of branches collected in our respective regions, whether in Estrie, Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Lanaudière and even by the sea in the United States. They are adorned with materials forgotten or purchased at the hardware store. The wood and added materials are recycled.
