A list for Christmas ….Toys and presents
The celebration of Christmas requires an organization that features various objects specific to this occasion. From decorations to toys and a variety of gifts, this exhibition links the reality of yesteryear to that of today.
One tradition remains unchanged at Christmas: offering gifts to family members and loved ones. This practice has existed since Roman times and has spread to many parts of the world. Christians considered gifts to be a symbolic tribute from the Three Wise Men to the Baby Jesus.
Using a Christmas list is an effective way to ensure that the gifts offered truly correspond to the expectations of the people who are supposed to receive them. Above all, it avoids surprises, such as finding duplicates in the types of gifts, and therefore disappointments.
This exhibition, which presents a wide range of artifacts ranging from decorations to toys to gifts of a certain originality, builds a bridge between the past and the present. It is also an opportunity to show the new acquisitions of objects that have enriched the Museum’s collection.
