50 Years of Donations
As the ultimate method of acquisition, donations and therefore donors are at the heart of the Museum’s collections. The celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the institution offer the opportunity to present emblematic artifacts donated mainly by members of the Coaticook community. The exhibition « 50 Years of Donations » is intended to be the receptacle of this unique concept.
The main method of acquiring objects at the Beaulne Museum is by donation. During the 50 years of the institution’s existence, the local and regional community, many people across Quebec, several collectors and museum institutions have generously donated artifacts to enrich the Museum’s collections.
In this year of celebration of the institution’s 50th anniversary, it was decided to symbolically select many different artifacts to mark this solemn occasion. The corpus of objects chosen is characterized by its heterogeneous nature. From pieces of textiles to sports equipment, books, household objects, etc., a selection that demonstrates the result of methodical collecting in keeping with the Museum’s mission.
Donors or their families are invited to rediscover or simply discover in some cases the fruit of their generosity or that of their family.
