The exhibition bears witness to the local sporting history and brings back memories for a good part of Coaticook’s population. In its 50 years of existence, the Coaticook Arena has been the scene of many remarkable sporting events for several generations. Hockey, broomball, figure skating, wrestling, boxing, etc., so many sports disciplines that have thrilled thousands of spectators from here and elsewhere.
This history is traced through photographic archives, various documents and artefacts intrinsically linked to the practice of different sports: skates, hockey sticks, sweaters, helmets, gloves, pucks, brooms, etc.
The exhibition is accompanied by a well-researched and illustrated book written by journalist Christian Caron. In addition, a reunion is scheduled to enrich the menu of this commemoration.
